+ New Player
We welcome all new players!!
While many people who try paddle for the first time have played other racquet sports, it is definitely not a requirement. Paddle can be played by individuals of all ages and abilities. Similar to other racquet sports, paddle requires the ability to run and hand-eye coordination. For new players, PAC will provide a “loaner” racquet and tennis balls. Players should wear non-marking athletic shoes and comfortable clothing. The paddle courts are outdoors, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
+ Recreational Players
Most people who play paddle end up playing at a recreational level. In addition to organizing their own games, they participate in organized clinics and leagues, and occasionally participate in Paddle Canada tournaments. PAC organizers strive to ensure that all players are matched with other players of their ability.
+ Competitive Players
Paddle draws many of its members from the tennis and squash communities. Because of their previous experience, quite often these players tend to play paddle at a higher level than other new players. As well, they typically have experience playing in tournaments and bring that competitive spirit to the paddle courts.
National Team
The National Team trains in Calgary and represents Canada at the bi-annual World Championships. The most recent World Championships were held in Calgary, Alberta during August 2008.
Typically, the team consists of 7 men (3 teams, 1 spare), 7 women (3 teams, 1 spare) and coaches. The team is selected based on performance in Paddle Canada-sanctioned tournaments and other criteria determined by the National Team Coach. Most of the National Team members are accomplished national and/or college level tennis and squash players that have taken up the sport of Paddle.

+ Junior Development
Junior player development is a major focal point of Paddle Canada. Free junior clinics are held every week during the summer. All players under the age of 18 are encouraged to attend.
The courts located at A.E. Cross Junior High School have heightened the awareness of paddle in this demographic. Schools within the vicinity are now adding Paddle to their physical education programs.
Paddle Canada also plans to send a Junior National Team to the World Junior Championships being held in Seville, Spain in October 2009. Those athletes interested in trying out should contact Bill Stamile at 403.531.6838
